Wave of Hope February Highlights

We are happy to see so much progress in different aspects of our ministry and how God is working to change lives of the children & their families through this amazing ministry.

OUR PROGRESS AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN FEBRUARY 2024

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS

It is exciting to see our numbers growing in our Bible Study groups in the community. We have been tackling “THE LORD’S PRAYER” as our theme for this month. Matthew from Stephanie’s team shared his powerful testimony in our bible study group and the students were so encouraged by how God had changed his life.

LIGHTCON

27 of our students were part of the Norwegian Settlers Church LIGHTCON youth event which was a life changing event for many teenagers that came to know God through that event.

GROM GAMES AT TRAFALGAR

We had 8 students participating in the Grom Games trials at Trafalgar which was represented by UGU SURFING DISTRICT. Our children did very well & it was exciting to see their outstanding performance. We thank God for the beautiful weather and great conditions that were surfable.

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR LUNCH CREW

Our lunch crew group is growing and all thanks to Jenna for putting up the video for our church members to know that there are many ways they can get involved with our ministry.

SOME CHALLENGES WE’VE EXPERIENCED THIS MONTH

Life had been so challenging for 3 boys (Siyanda, Shannon & Leon) that had been associated with drugs & violence before they joined the Wave Of Hope program last year. It seems life they are not making any progress in changing their lives although we have provided activities for them to participate in so they can change how they see the world and do things. Siyanda has a learning disorder problem. He’s a slow learner and Zanele is still trying to find a suitable school for his condition. He’s also very violent and has been using substances. Shannon shows no interest in participating in any of the activities that were provided for him to take part in. Marcella had been seeing some of our children that have a behavioural issue at home and school for counselling sessions.
