Making Waves in May - Wave of Hope
We are so blessed to finish this month with so many exciting news and so much work for the community through this ministry. It is so pleasing to see the Lord guiding and directing our mission towards our vision for the Wave of hope ministry.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you” Joshua 1:9
This month we visited five families and distributed 3 food parcels which came as a blessing to the beneficiaries. We also distributed few seedlings for families to grow their own vegetables in their homes.
Okuhle Hadebe had two district trials for this month and it was by God’s grace that he made it to the finals as he is trying so hard to qualify for the South African Junior Champs. We are grateful to see all the effort and discipline he is showing towards his training time to improve and develop his surfing skills. However, his academic performance is still excellent.
Bible studies have been going really well and it is a huge blessing to have been able to create an environment where teenagers can express their feelings, thoughts and views while also being educated about the word of God. Our consistent number of attendance is for this month came up to 31 children. We also handed over few Bibles to the youth children of the community church at Bhobhoyi.
We are happy to have the Latitude students back on board as they are really playing a significant roll in our program. This month they started leading bible study sessions. Samkelo & Kwanele had been hands on for our weekend programs.
We are so grateful to still have our lunch group assist with lunch during our weekend program and their help going as long way to enable us to do what we do better.
Few of our boys will be enrolling in a South African Life Saving Course test and if they pass the test then they will be enrolling for the course training on the 17th June. This course will be a huge benefit to our boys as they can seek employment as Life Guard during school holidays.
On the 12th June, I will be heading to the Christian Surfers National Camp at Jeffreys Bay along with Samkelo & Kwanele until the 19th. Bible study sessions will continue to run with the help of the Latitude students and the weekend programs will be out of action for one weekend as we want to ensure the safety of the children during our time away.
