Spreading the Gospel with the Bucket Ministry

The Bucket Ministry demands, before the field work commences, that it is required that the mission mapping of all the communities that will be provided with the bucket filter in the near future, is done and then each community will be divided into zones. It's very important to have land marks in place that will help to separate all zones (use roads, street lights, shops, trees, etc.) To do this kind of planning provides a better understanding and clear direction on how the process works.

There are 3 communities that were identified when mission mapping was done (Jesus village, Bhobhoyi village and Mkholombe informal settlement). Then Jesus village was the first community which was elected, where zones were marked to divide the community into 4 zones including the tribes living within the area. The inclusion of tribes is done to identify which tribe has the majority and for the bucket ministry to have necessary means to reach every tribe in the community by giving opportunity to the volunteers from all tribes that are found within the area to join the team.

The bucket ministry has the process called family assessments. The family assessment involves counting the number of households within the community which later will be given the gift of bucket filter.

The family assessments that are done determines how many households in the community. During this process some family members shared their stories telling us that they experiences upset stomach and skin rash, which are the cases known by doctors and were told that they need to use boiled water to drink if they can't afford to purchase water.

The story shows that there is need for bucket filter to help the community because the majority of families, they say "they see that their water is contaminated and need help." So far I completed zone 1 which have 417 households and some of landlord's not interested to open their premises for to conduct the assessments.

The family assessments in zones 2, 381 households in total, and now I'm working on preparing for the distribution day of 30 buckets to zone 1 families which will be held on the International Assemblies of God this coming weekend. I'm still proceeding with the assessments in zones 3 and from last week I recorded 219 so far.
