Harmonies that inspire hope
A 1st Quarter Report for the Genesis Music Academy
We’ve had a good start to the year. Both group and individual classes are running six days a week. To cope with the demand for classes, Bonga is now conducting lessons on Saturdays, as well. To encourage parents to send their kids to Saturday choir sessions – Liz began offering free Mathematics and English lessons to all students. This continued from 2015 to 2019. For the first time, since 2019, we have resumed classes, at the beginning of April, this year. The grounds are a-buzz with kids on Saturday mornings again!
Community Choirs will also resume on Saturdays. Once the new choir hall and kitchen is ready for use, we will be able to grow this branch of ministry, providing basic meals, and transport to designated areas. One of the highlights over the Easter period, is that students were trained specifically to serve at their churches, during Easter conferences and services, with excellence. GMA received excellent feedback from these churches.
Staff Changes/Developments:
Bonga will be taking on more of a managerial role from March, this year.
Looking Forward:
We were looking forward to moving into the new music academy, after Easter. Unfortunately, we still cannot occupy, until permission is given. Pastor Jeff, Brian and Liz did a walk through, on Thursday, 11th April, and made a list of all that needs to be completed. We are very grateful for all the hard work put in thus far! Cherrie Downham is helping with aesthetics and has some beautiful ideas for interior décor.
Looking forward to an exciting rest of the year! God is good!!!
