Creating A Secure Environment

A Combined SafePlace Report for February and March 2024

The two months have seen a rise in GBV cases, The whole community need prayer so that they would be able to differentiate between right and wrong.

The cases have been very successful at SafePlace’s, follow-ups are done on all the cases that came through which need Social Workers intervention. Working together with the other team members, Wave of Hope and Community Care, with case referrals is one of the highlights as it shows unity within our ministries. This is also working well with the other stakeholders such as Child Welfare and DSD. Home Visits have been done and are going very well. We would like to see change in the lives of the people that we are visiting and not only do visits but also disciple to them and call them to Christ.

SafePlay is doing well, the children now know to wait for the Genesis vehicle and then come through to play, this has been precious to see as even the parents know when to come and fetch the children after SafePlay. The children are learning basic colours and counting with the help of ECD Program, which is run by Thuli. Community Workers (site overseers) are really invested in working and being productive,  Road to Health program of helping the people with immunisation checks and deworming is doing well. The rest of the ladies have started owning the SafePlay and even come during their days off at no cost to organisation.
